I love transhumanism; I love the idea of pushing the boundaries, of embracing science and technology, of transcending our human limitations through the application of our own creativity and intelligence. There’s only one problem: technology is unreliable and, well, sucky at the best of times. Example: I’m watching a video on YouTube of a Google [ Read More ]

I finally finished Mass Effect 3 the other night - a six hour plunge toward the final scene of the trilogy that I've spent a few years adoring and re-playing. At first, I was kinda pleased with the ending, but then I made the mistake of YouTubing the other possible endings and felt a little worse. Then annoyed. Then curious.

There are plenty of posts online about the whole ME3 ending controversy and I'm about to add one more... so, be warned: there are a lot of spoilers ahead. If you've finished ME3, have no plans to play it, or just don't give a flying Vorcha then read on.

A lot of us really do need to just RTFM sometimes. I’ve spent a good hour googling like crazy trying to find a smooth solution to the problem of ugly Symfony URLs. For example, converting a URL that looks like this: http://www.domain.com/backend.php/object Into this: http://backend.domain.com/object It really isn’t particularly hard, but I wouldn’t recommend googling [ Read More ]
